How to Use Oil Eater® Cleaner & Degreaser

Before using Oil Eater® Cleaner & Degreaser, secure the appropriate safety equipment (beginning with gloves and goggles) and thoroughly ventilate the area. Unless you’re using specialty equipment, our Oil Eater® products will only require a container and basic cleaning implements (rags, paper towels, brushes, sponges, etc.). Consult the package instructions for your application and heed the following for best results:

Removing Grease From Filters

Grease filters require weekly cleaning (or more, depending on use) to optimize performance and reduce fire hazards. First, you’ll need to prepare a tub with eight parts hot water and one part Oil Eater® Cleaner & Degreaser. Remove the filter(s) and wipe off excess grease. Gently agitate the cleaner on the surface using a brush, sponge, or spray bottle.

For baffle-style filters, coat the inner and outer surfaces to fully immerse the pretreated filter into the cleaner/degreaser solution. Then clean the exhaust hood while the filters soak.

Cleaning Industrial Flooring

Oil Eater® Cleaner & Degreaser is also an ideal multi-purpose cleaning solution for industrial flooring. Prepare an 8:1 water/degreaser solution (we recommend presoaking heavily soiled areas using a 32-oz trigger spray) and mop the floor area as normal. Periodically wring the mop and change the water to avoid spreading grease.

You’ll need to identify all wet areas with caution/wet floor signs. If surfaces are still slippery after drying, mop again using a more diluted solution. Note that cleaning schedules will vary widely depending on the nature and extent of the area’s use.
